The Airline Academy of Australia, Queensland's only Qantas Approved Flight Training Organisation, focuses on professional full time flying training for those seeking a career as either an airline, charter pilot or flying instructor.
The Airline Academy offers training for both domestic and international students. The Academy specialises in tailoring student’s training programs to meet the specific licensing and flight experience requirements of their home country.
The Academy is structured and staffed with the aim of providing the highest levels of ground instruction and flying tuition. The Academy offers an environment where the cadet pilot is supported by a mentor program and a dedicated flying instructor. Cadets are teamed with other cadets so that CRM and TEM concepts and disciplines are introduced at the very beginning of flying training. Situated on a busy controlled airport the Academy offers a mix of open training areas for ab initio training in addition to more demanding training in busy controlled airspace.
The Airline Academy of Australia’s location in Brisbane boasts consistently good weather with few extremes in temperature or rainfall. Consistently good weather enables access to a variety of pristine coastal and hinterland locations all within brief flight times from our base location. This optimises available training time and reliable access to a variety of terrain, landing areas and conditions which are generally not available elsewhere in Australia.
All of the qualifications granted by the Academy are approved by the Australian Civil Safety Authority (CASA) and are recognised by International Civil Organisation (ICAO) member states.
OUR STAFF
In keeping with the highest standards required to graduate professional pilots all of the Academy’s ground and flying instructors have an extensive background in aviation. The Academy employs a range of former airline pilots thus ensuring that the cadets are exposed to the airline environment from the first day of training. The Academy can tailor a course to meet the specific requirements of an airline if required.
QUALITY AND STANDARDS
The Academy is licensed and audited by the Australian Civil Safety Authority and in keeping with the regulator’s requirements and the Academy’s operational and training manuals, all instructors undergo a regular assessment by the Academy’s Chief Pilot.
